A 2008 special edition Chevy Corvette Z06 is planned to be auctioned off at the 39th annual Barrett-Jackson Car Auction. The proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross relief fund to aid in the disaster stricken country of Haiti. The GM Foundation is also donating $100,000 in additional money.The limited 2008 Corvette stouts a 7.0L V8 that is good for 505 horsepower. The Corvette features "427" hood badges, spider design chrome wheels, a Stinger-style stripe, and a Dark Titanium leather-wrapped interior.
The special edition Corvette, the last of the 427 that were built and signed by Will Cooksey in 2006 as he retired as plant manager after 15 years of service, goes on sale January 23rd.
