Car Fact of the Day

Toyota started its heritage labeled "Toyoda" A public competition in September of 1936 for a new logo design caused the name change. Out of 27,ooo entries the winner was the three letters for "Toyoda" in a circle. Risburo Toyota, who married into the company, preferred Toyota due to its simpler visual design. Also "Toyoda" literally mean fertile rice paddies. The name change helped distance the company from associations with old-fashioned farming.
